ABOUT US

First Church is an Ecumenical Shared Ministry—a multi-denominational congregation with ties to the United Church of Christ, Unitarian Universalist Association, and American Baptist Churches . We are completely self-governing and have approximately 400 active adult members, who come from over a dozen different denominations. . We are active members of the Worcester County Ecumenical Council and belong to the Massachusetts Council of Churches.

First Church was formed in 1949 as a merger of the First Parish Unitarian Church (1744), the First Baptist Church (1837), and the Evangelical Congregational Church (1852). The church has a full time Senior Pastor, half-time Associate Pastor, and part-time Music Director and Sunday School director. Support staff include an Administrative Assistant and Custodian. The church has an annual budget of approximately $250,000.

Please visit us any Sunday morning for worship at 10 AM. Sunday School is at the same hour during the school year.
