Building and Facilities Board
Mission:
Develop, implement and manage an on-going maintenance and renewal plan for church buildings, ground and equipment.
Membership:
Eight members elected at the annual meeting with at least one member from each currently viable constituent society from slate of nominees recruited by Nominating Committee.
Activities and Operations:
Parsonage |
- Monitor building condition.
- Act as liaison between minister and Board on parsonage issues.
- Develop short and long-term maintenance and renewal plans and schedules.

Church Buildings |
- Hire and oversee Custodian
- Oversee day-to-day maintenance and cleaning.
- Oversee/evaluate custodian and cleaning services.
- Liaison to Administration Board on building use and rental policies.
- Check building condition after rentals.
- Oversee grounds maintenance.
- Allocate storage space to church sponsored groups.
- Consult with other boards on space and building needs.
- Recruit and oversee volunteers to supplement custodial work or for special church cleanup or maintenance projects.
- Develop and maintain building access policies and key distribution.

Kitchen |
- Develop and maintain kitchen use policies.
- Maintain inventory of kitchen equipment.
- Monitor condition of kitchen equipment and appliances.
- Develop and maintain kitchen appliance maintenance and renewal plan and schedule.
- Recommend purchase of new or replacement equipment

Long-Term Building Maintenance |
- Develop and maintain a log of major replacement and repairs.
- Develop and implement a long range replacement and maintenance plan.
- Develop and maintain equipment warrantee and maintenance records.

Major Projects |
- Oversee project implementation.
|
Budget |
- Submit budget recommendations for building and grounds maintenance to Finance committee.
- Recommend salary for custodian.
- Recommend budget for cleaning and other maintenance contracts.
- Determine use of building fund.
