Worship Board

Mission:

The Worship Board, celebrating the varied theological perspectives of the First Church family, works with the Ministers, Music Director, and other staff in the design, implementation, support, and evaluation of Worship services and music program. Thus, the congregation may be nurtured spiritually in giving thanks, honoring and serving God.

Membership:

Eight members elected at the annual meeting with at least one member from each constituent society from a slate of nominees offered by the Nominating committee .

Activities and Operations:

Worship Services	Design, implement, and evaluate Worship services. Maintain a close working relationship with the Diaconate. Manage activities supporting worship: Head Ushers, Ushers, Greeters, Guest Ministers, Sunday bulletin, phone hookups.
Music Program	Hire and evaluate performance of the Music Director. Manage activities related to music programs, guest organists, instrumental music, organ and piano maintenance, sheet music library, hymnals, Choir program (vestments, recognition, workshops, recruitment, etc.).
Worship Budget	Submit budget recommendations for worship. Recommend salary for Music Director.
