FELLOWSHIP AND PARISH CARE INVOLVEMENT OPPORTUNITIES CAREGIVERS visit the elderly and shut-in, arrange for rides and meet other varying needs. Volunteer to be on call driver, to visit, or to be part of the committee. Contact Rob Barwise or the monthly contact listed in the Sunday bulletin. MEALGIVERS provide meals for families and individuals going through times of sickness, loss or difficulty. Volunteer to make a meal for someone when needed, or to be a monthly coordinator. Contact Cheryl Barwise. PRAYER LINE This quiet but vital ministry is open to anyone who would like to pray for others as requests are received. Contact Gail Pineo to get added to the telephone list, or Cheryl Barwise to receive requests by email. FLOWER COMMITTEE Would you like to remember a loved one or celebrate some special occasion by providing flowers for Sunday worship? You may sign up for the Sunday of your choice. Committee members take a month at a time arranging for flowers and delivering them to the sick or shut-in after worship. Contact the church. REIKI HEALING MINISTRY This caring ministry is based on an adaptation of the Biblical “laying on of hands” for personal wholeness and healing. Several church members have been trained in this practice, and offer treatment sessions at the church one Friday evening per month. Contact Karen Iszlai to learn more. COFFEE HOURS It's easy to take your turn hosting a Sunday Coffee Hour, and/or add your name to the list of bakers. Groups and individuals welcome. The Fellowship Board will guide you through the process. CHURCH FAIR Usually held in October, this long standing church tradition involves many church friends in making crafts, baking pies, serving lunch and other activities that make fair day both a fun day and a successful fundraiser for the church. To learn how you can help contact the Fellowship Board. FELLOWSHIP MEALS Each year there are a number of fellowship dinners, lunches or breakfasts needing cooks. Table setters, dishwashers, etc. You may find the Turkey Supper in October (Fellowship Board sterlingoffice @gmail.com), the HollyBerry Brunch (Dave Lawrence dpljr@verizon.net ), the La Romana Dinner in January (Shantia Wright-Gray), the Easter Breakfast (Fellowship Board), or a Ham and Bean Dinner in the spring (Fellowship Board). SACO RIVER FAMILY CANOE TRIP A four day canoeing and camping experience for all ages and levels of experience, usually held in late July from Sunday to Wednesday. Canoes can be borrowed. Usually from 25 to 50 people join in this wonderful experience of fun and church community. Contact Jonathan Wright-Gray for more information . PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY Known as the “Knit Wits” this intergenerational group knits and crochets shawl and blankets for the confirmation calass and others, praying for those who will receive them. They both meet together and work individually. Contact Judy Mather or Shantia Wright-Gray to learn more. COLLATION MINISTRY Volunteers come together to offer a simple “coffee hour” style reception in the church hall following funeral services. Contract Flo Coughlin to be added to the call list. |
