FIRST CHURCH INVOLVEMENT OPPORTUNITIES

 WORSHIP AND MUSIC

WELCOME TEAM These are the folks who greet you on Sunday morning, help you find your name tag, and make sure visitors are warmly welcomed to our church. Contact Carol Hoffman to help.

USHERS Each Sunday there is a Head Usher who is on hand to supervise and instruct the volunteer ushers and make sure the building is ready. You may sign up to be a Head Usher, to volunteer on a particular Sunday, or to be called as needed. Contact the church.

LAY READERS On most Sundays one or more people assist in worship by reading some of the Bible passages for the day. Volunteers are put on a list to be called, or you may offer to read on a specific Sunday. Coordinated by the Diaconate.

CANDLELIGHTERS Children are invited to volunteer to light candles at the beginning of worship, under the direction of the head usher. To volunteer for a turn, speak to the usher, a Sunday School teacher, or the church office.

CHILDREN'S CHOIR Boys and girls from about 1st to 4th grades (ages are somewhat flexible) usually comprise this choir which adds joy to our worship. The children rehearse briefly with Music Director Ronna Archbold immediately after worship and class time (11:05). Parent volunteers to assist Ronna may be helpful as well. Contact Ronna.

SENIOR CHOIR A desire to sing, rather than musical expertise, is all that is necessary. (Choir is often rated as one of the most fun groups to belong to!) Rehearsals are on Fridays from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Sunday morning from 9:00 to 9:45. Most choir members have to be absent occasionally, so part time "fill-ins" would be welcome as well. CONTEMPORARY MUSIC GROUP T his group of singers and instrumentalists leads occasional worship services using a variety of music styles. New members always welcome. Contact Jonathan Wright-Gray.
